With two locations in the city, Madcap is a local favorite for its high-quality coffee and cozy atmosphere. Extremely comfortable. Overall, all I can say is that Madcap's quality is above par.One of the most well-known coffee shops in Grand Rapids is Madcap Coffee Company. It is a 50/25/25 blend T-shirt by American Apparel. I went with one of their tee's to add to the collection. Merch.they had an impressive merch section with all sorts of gear. The colors were crazy and walking in was a pleasant surprise. Second only to Lamplighter in Richmond, VA. Speaking of props, Madcap also gets my "Best Coffee Shop Bathroom" award. They were putting 110% into it and doing that in Grand Rapids of all places, I have to give them big props. With awards displayed and how buttoned up everything was, I couldnt deny this stuff. Tried a Cortado with their Third Coast Espresso and coffee/milk ratio was near perfect. Set up well and the barista bar was kind of elevated but as I took it all in, I was pretty overwhelmed with my options and I didn't know where to start. Some say they are worth their weight in gold. I rode down to this shop and was excited because it's one of the big names I hear thrown around and for some reason, their bags of beans are always particularly expensive. I guess Michiganians say that their coast is considered the third coast because of the size of their massive lake. ![]() This is where I learned that there was a "Third Coast".
